Ramsey Queens Pier Railway
After a gap of over 40 years, the Ramsey Queens Pier Railway on the Isle of Man carried its first passengers on 30 July 2024, when 1937 built, 4-wheel Planet diesel (works No. 2027) hauled passengers on 'Toastrack' saloon (works No. 2028) over the short restored section of the once full pier length railway, built to transport goods traffic to/from ships at the pier head. The loco received a steam outline in 1981, with the railway closing later the same year. Originally restored in Ramsey, it later moved to Jurby Transport Museum. Returning to the pier, now in the hands of the Queens Pier Restoration Trust from 2023. In 2024 it returned to passenger service with its original coach. Passengers on the re-opening train disembark at the current pier head, in preparation for the return journey.
