The lightweight equipment can be easily attached or removed from a locos draw gear or multiple unit coupling without the use of mechanical plant.

In the closing light of the day on 1 December 2015, GWR HST No. 43172 Harry Patch passes Dawlish leading train 1C83 the 13.05 Paddington to Plymouth. One of the few times this stunning power car has worked along the sea wall since unveiling. It usually works on the Bristol road.
