I think I would be correct in saying its VERY rare to find a picture of a main line locomotive at Drakes Halt, deep inside Devonport Naval Base, well behind the usual tight security lines. Today, 11 July 2017, I was invited by GB Railfreight to attend the high profile unveiling of the HMS Argyll nameplate and ships number on the side of immaculate Class 66 No. 66775. After arriving yesterday, the loco was positioned at Drakes Halt platform, where in teaming rain the cast plate was unveiled by the Commanding Officer of HMS Argyll, Commander Toby Shaughnessy. The loco now also carries a White Ensign on both cab sides and a cast ships crest on both sides of the large cab.
