First Great Western advertising HST power car No. 43144 arrives at Exeter St Davids on 6 April 2015 leading train 1C73, the 09.04 Taunton to Penzance. On the rear of the the train is sister power car No. 43087. It has been rare to find the pictogram power cars facing west, as they are usually attached to the first class ends of trains. However, due to Easter diversions, this set was running with its first class at the west end.

The first day of the 2015 Dartmoor Railway operating season was on Good Friday 3 April 2015. The line is very short of operating power and the Easter Period saw a most unusual formation in use of Class 08 No. D4167 (08937) hauling/propelling RDB975046 Lab 11 and Class 411 4-CEP DMS No. S61743 providing remote driving facilities. Lab 11 has been restored in RTC blue and red livery and the test train equipment bay where the original passenger compartments were, has now been turned into an open seating area with loose chairs around fixed tables. Services operated from Okehampton to Meldon Quarry and as far south as Sampford Courtenay.
