About the only bit of colour seen in Dawlish on 24/11/18. Colas Rail freight 70 No. 70817 heads west with train 6C27, 11.41 Westbury to Liskeard, with just a load of seven.
Never common to find pairs of DB Class 66s in the far west. However, on 23 November 2018, due to leaf fall and adhesion, train 6C12. 10.00 Burngullow to Exeter Riverside loaded sand train was powered by Nos. 66169 and 66003, both in original livery. The train is seen approaches Dawlish station from Kennaway Tunnel.
A rather pleasing 2+3 stock transfer move operated on Sunday 18 November 2018. Formed with GW blue power cars 43186 and 43154, the stock consisted of sliding door modified vehicles 49102, 48104 and 48106, en route from Wabtec Doncaster to Laira via a hold over at Bristol. Running as train 5V84, 11.00 Bristol Temple Meads to Laira, the train is seen skirting King's Walk, Dawlish in a 'slightly' rough sea.

On 25 October 2018, the long awaited opening of the Sheffield 'Tram-Train' took place, with Class 399 sets operating three services each hour between Sheffield Cathedral and Rotherham Parkgate. On 1 November 2018, set No. 399201 passes through the high level 'normal' platforms at Rotherham Central with a Rotherham Parkgate to Sheffield Cathedral service. The low level tram platforms are at the Sheffield end of the station.
