On what would have been Captain Sir Tom Moore’s 101st Birthday, the Captain Tom Moore 100 Challenge took place and Great Western Railway participated using ‘Tom’s’ IET 800025 to operate a 100 stop duty in 40 hours. The set, with No. 800033 for company, started off with the 06.37 Paddington to Penzance on 30 April 2021. The train is seen with its revised body side branding on the first class end rounding the curve at Dawlish Warren.

Although i'm a person not usually associated with steam, I did enjoy catching this on 27 April 2021. 1943-built Baldwin 2-8-0 No. 2253 'Omaha', which for the last year has been stabled at the Paignton & Dartmouh Railway not turning a wheel in revenue earning service. However, on 27 April 2021 the loco entered passenger service, powering the 10.00 Paignton to Kingswear, seen pulling upgrade from Goodrington. After being built in the US, the loco came to England and later worked in France and Poland.
