On 31 August 2019, Loco Services Class 47 No. 47501 tails 'The Statesman' Pullman set towards Kennaway Dawlish with train 1Z86, the 05.12 Nottingham to Dartmouth 'Dartmouth Regatta Statesman'.

The first visit of a Maritime Intermodal Class 66 to the west took place overnight on 28-29 August 2019, when No. 66162 'Maritime Intermodal Five' worked the empty sand wagons to Burngullow. The loaded train returned on 29 August as 6C12 10.28 Burngullow to Exeter Riverside, running some 90min late. The pioneer working is seen approaching Dawlish.

More people out on the Dawlish Sea wall and surrounding area for a LNER HST than I've seen in ages. CrossCounrty hire-in 43257 and 43251 with set EC52 heads towards Kennaway Tunnel, Dawlish on 24 August 2019 with train 1V46, 06.45 York to Plymouth.
On 24 August 2019, the second westbound LNER HST formed of 43290 and 43367 with set EC64 approaches Kennaway Tunnel, Dawlish near an hour late with train 1V50, the 06.06 Edinburgh - Plymouth.
24 August 2019, 1E63, 15.25 Plymouth to York, running 35 late through Dawlish, emerges from Kennaway Tunnel and skirts Marine Parade, The train is formed of 43367 and 43290 with EC64. Memories of summer Saturdays with GNER HSTs.
At last a Class 165 test on the Dawlish Sea Wall. On 15 August 2019, 165113 operated a gauging test run from Exeter to Dawlish then back to Exeter before a run to Plymouth testing every platform. On the return the set visited Paignton. Seen in the down at Dawlish on its way from Exeter to Plymouth. Not the first 165 on the sea wall though as a Chiltern set did brake tests over Dainton when brand new.

Now sadly devoid of its Red Arrow cast nameplates, FGW No. 43155 leads train 5V84, 08.56 Doncaster Wabtec to Laira depot on 13 August 2019, seen approaching Kennaway Tunnel, delivering sliding door set GW06. On the rear was 43192.
Nice to see a little colour on the Dawlish Sea Wall on Sunday 11 August 2019. Colas Rail Freight Class 66s Nos. 66848 and 66850 'top and tail' 10 ballast wagons as train 6C20 09.30 Lostwithiel to Westbury. This is SUMMER, why is there nobody on the beach or sea wall!
