On 29 June 2016, Colas Rail Freight operated a 'Hospital Train' or a 'CrippleX' taking two previously damaged wagons back to Westbury from Devon. One wagon (JNA NLU 29157) was collected from Tavistock Junction and the other (JNA NLU 29076) from Totnes. Powered by Class 70 No. 70809, the train operated as 6C30, the 09.30 Tavistock Junction to Westbury and is seen emerging from Kennaway Tunnel.

Its Mazey Day - 25 June 2016! Pathfinder Railtours operated their 'The Mazey Day Cornishman' charter to the far west, running as 1Z50, the 05.28 Eastleigh to Penzance. Power was provided by DB-Cargo Class 66 No. 66070 and the train is seen approaching Kennaway Tunnel, Dawlish. And, of course Devon was bathed in glorious sun!
After a day of indifferent light on the good old Sea Wall, the clouds managed to part for the down Saturday only loco hauled, 2C51, 17.50 Exeter St Davids to Penzance, which today 11 June 2016 was powered by green-liveried No. 57604, seen heading towards Kennaway from Dawlish Station.

Applied at Laira, the power car tailed this mornings 08.18 Plymouth to Penzance and then led train 1A85 the 11.00 Penzance to Paddington, seen here emerging from Kennaway Tunnel Dawlish.
Loaned to the Exeter division for the weekend to cope with perceived extra demand on local services due to the Torbay Airshow, Reading-allocated Class 150/0 No. 150002 departs from Dawlish on 11 June 2016 forming train 2T17, the 12.23 Exmouth to Paignton. Looking at all the extra HST sets laid on to run between Exeter and Paignton, they all look to be at least 98% empty! (at Dawlish).
