On 28 May 2018, Class 800 No. 800023 emerges from Kennaway Tunnel, Dawlish with working 5X91 the 11.07 Penzance to Exeter St Davids.

All the classic spots on the Sea Wall will soon be ticked for 800s at this rate. No. 800028 approaches Dawlish station on 28 May 2018 forming training run 5X51 10.44 Plymouth to Taunton.

In glorious light, Class 800 No. 800022 heads towards Kennaway Tunnel, Dawlish on 25 May 2018 running as train 5X52, 14.24 Exeter St Davids to Penzance, previously the set had operated as 5Z87, 10.47 Paddington to Penzance which was officially terminated at Exeter and the new path taken up. Earlier in the day, the '800' had operated empty from Plymouth to Taunton and formed train 1A82 to London, due to problems in the west following the failure of the down sleeper at Newton Abbot.

Although almost dark, I thought I should record this on 16 May 2018. IETs 800030 and 800009 emerge from Kennaway Tunnel, Dawlish with the return Laira to Stoke Gifford training run. Taken in Raw on Nikon 810 at 1000/f4 at 2500iso.

Freightliner Class 66 No. 66568 leads the Taunton-based Track Renewal Train (TRT) with No. 66550 on the rear powering train 6X04, the 18.32 Taunton Fairwater to Plymouth on 16 May 2018. From Plymouth the train returned on the up line to perform relaying work near Aish. The train is seen heading away from Dawlish station towards Kennaway Tunnel.

Love em or hate em, these IETs are impressive to see running (especially in good light). On 15 May 2018, a pair of '800s' Nos. 800009 and 800030 are seen between Dawlish Station and Kennaway Tunnel forming train 5Z88, the 06.06 Stoke Gifford depot to Plymouth Laira depot.
